Events held in 2026 must use the 2027 approved logo, as all events held after Dec 31, 2025 are qualifying events for the 2027 BRWF.
Please remember when you send in Bonus Race Finals results to include a results reporting form.
Single-day event approvals
For shows with a history of 50 entries or more and/or $200 added money.
- Fee: $1/run, taken off the top of the entry fee and charged to EVERY rider in the open approved race. 100% is paid back (80% at our Finals and 20% used for producer incentives/awards). We hold nothing out for admin.
- Weekend and weekday events must have at least $200 added or a history of 50+ entries.
- Protection radius: $2,000+ added per day = 300 miles · $1,000-$1,999 = 150 miles · $200-$999 = 100 miles.
- Qualifier ID#s are generated by the BRF office once results and the $1/run payment are received. Qualifiers are awarded on a 5D 1/2 second split regardless of how the event is paid out.
- Mail full results (preferably in Excel) with rider’s name, city and state within 14 days of the event.
- Note qualifier winners on the results when posting at your event. In case of a tie, award multiple qualifiers just as you would split money. You can award 1 in each division for every 50 entries.
- At completion of the event, send a copy of the results with qualifiers noted and $1/run for every run in the open class.
Qualifiers by total entries
| 1-75 entries | 1 qualifier |
| 76-150 entries | 2 qualifiers |
| 151-225 entries | 3 qualifiers |
| 226-300 entries | 4 qualifiers |
| 301-375 entries | 5 qualifiers |
| 376-450 entries | 6 qualifiers |
| 451-525 entries | 7 qualifiers |
| 526-600 entries | 8 qualifiers |
| 601-675 entries | 9 qualifiers |
Bump-up option
Any approved event within 20 entries of the next level may pay in the extra $1/run to “bump up” to the next qualifying level. Example: with 138 entries, the producer may pay the additional $13 to bump up and award 3 qualifiers instead of 2. Make a note on your forms when submitting results.
Producer guidelines
We suggest the following guidelines be followed at every event; however it is up to each producer to run their own event under their own rules. The final decision belongs to each individual producer.
- Entry fees and added money should be clearly advertised. Any added money advertised MUST be included in the payout. Any event advertised as Bonus Race Finals approved MUST be turned into our office with results and payment. Failure to follow this rule will result in producer/event blacklisting.
- Sanction fee should be taken off the TOP of the entry fee and no less than 70% of the entry fee paid back. We recommend 75-80%. Office/barn/processing fee should be 1x/rider/day max.
- Producers should post their rules at each event so they are clear for everyone. Rules should include payback %, rerun policy (if prior penalties apply or not), refund policy, dress code, entry deadlines, etc. If awards are to be given, make it clear how those will be given. A liability release form should be signed to protect the producer, facility and sponsors of each event.
Series approvals
For a series of shows with no added-money requirement and no history proving 50 or more entries/run. A series is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 shows.
- Fee: $1/run, taken off the top of the entry fee and charged to EVERY rider in the open approved race. 100% is paid back (80% at our 5D Finals and 20% for producer incentives/awards). We hold nothing out for admin.
- No protection radius. We ask producers to use good judgement and not schedule on top of other events near enough to draw the same contestants during the week.
- You MUST keep your own point system; we no longer figure points for you. We suggest points in each division 1D-5D regardless of how you pay your race: 1st 20 points, 2nd 19, 3rd 18, etc. Everyone is eligible because everyone pays the $1/run fee. High point in each division at the end of the series wins qualifiers.
- We give 1 in each division for every 75 entries (total for the series). Note qualifier winners on the results of the final show in your series; in case of a tie award multiple qualifiers just as you would split money.
- At completion of the series send all results, a list of those who won qualifiers, and $1/run for every run in the series.
The same bump-up option applies. We do not have a paid membership fee and we do not mail any notifications to our members.
